dot on a sock

Against the advice of my Accountant

Against the advice of my Accountant

Happy new year! I hope 2021 is off to a great start and that you’ve had lots of quality time with family and friends in recent weeks.

We’ve had an amazing response since launching dot on a sock late last year - thank you to everyone who supported us and made their first order, I’m so incredibly grateful that you’ve become the founding members of our savvy sock family!

One thing a lot of people have been responding really positively to since we launched is the fact we donate 10% of revenue to the Women’s and Girls' Emergency Centre, who support women and their families in crisis.

When I told my Accountant that I was going to be doing this a few months back, she advised against it. “You’re a new business, every percentage point counts, especially when you’re selling something small like socks. Please reconsider.”

But I refused and I stuck with my decision to donate 10% of revenue to WAGEC. I want this business to be different. I want dot on a sock to not only make a difference to the lives of the families using our products, I want to make a difference in our community.

So please know by supporting us, you’re also supporting a family in Australia who need a hand up.

From my family to yours, thank you.
